Hold and Secure Notification
Today Alexandra Middle School was instructed to initiate a brief Hold and Secure Protocol to keep everyone safe while Medicine Hat Police dealt with an incident nearby. A Hold and Secure is called when there is an emergency OUTSIDE of the school. Students and staff remained safely inside the building and classes operated as normal for the duration of the protocol; exterior doors and windows were closed and locked. After 10 minutes, the All Clear was called as Medicine Hat Police indicated that the issue is resolved and the area outside of the school is safe and secure.
The safety of students and staff is our number one priority when addressing any emergency; we understand family concerns and appreciate the patience and understanding shown by our school community.
