Online Registration for Current & New Students Opens Feb 4
Starting Feb 4, current students (students who are currently registered in one of our schools) and new students can register online for the 2025-2026 school year. Follow the steps below to get started.

Current families are defined as those who have one or more children currently enrolled in an MHPSD school. If you have a child who is new to MHPSD and you would like to register them, please follow the steps in the current families registration section below.
Current Student Registration
All students that will continue to attend a MHPSD school for 2025-2026 will be required to register. Our online system will open on Feb 4 and email notifications will be sent to families with a link to register online. Alternatively, if you do not receive an email, follow the steps below: 1. Login to your PowerSchool parent portal account (link below) 2. Click on the SchoolEngage icon on the left menu 3. Choose your childs name from the student tab on the left menu 3. Navigate to the right and choose the 2025-2026 Registration Form that has been assigned to your child.

Starting Feb 4 you can follow steps 1 & 2 above to access SchoolEngage, then navigate to main menu and click on + Add Student and follow the prompts. Once you have added the new student you will see new forms in the forms box, please read carefully and complete ONE of the following forms: 1. 2025-2026 New Student Registration (for new students Kindergarten, Play & Learn and grades 1-12) 2. 2025-2026 Early Learning Registration 3. 2025-2026 Hub Virtual School New Student Registration (for new students who will attend the Hub Virtual School)
New Families
Online Registration
New families are defined as those who DO NOT have ANY children registered in MHPSD schools. Use the link below to create a School Engage account.
New Student Registration - School EngageOnce you have activated your school engage account, navigate to main menu, and click on + Add Student and follow the prompts. After adding the new student you will see new forms in the forms box, please read carefully and complete ONE of the following forms: 1. 2025-2026 New Student Registration (for new students Kindergarten, Play & Learn and grades 1-12) 2. 2025-2026 Early Learning Registration 3. 2025-2026 Hub Virtual School New Student Registration (for new students who will attend the Hub Virtual School) 4. Summer School 2025-2026 Online applications for new students to attend ELP, Kindergarten, Play & Learn and grades 1-12 will be accepted year round.
What you will need to register a new student:
Click the link above to create an account with SchoolEngage. Add your children to the account and complete the 2024-2025 registration form for each child that you wish to register. You will be asked to provide the following: • Proof of the child’s age and legal name. Documents accepted are: birth certificate, adoption certificate, student authorization visa, Canadian citizenship papers, or permanent landed immigrant/residence documentation; • House number and street address if you live in a town or city; your 911 address (e.g. 223245 TWP RD) if you live on a farm or an acreage; • Home, cell and business telephone numbers (e-mail if available); • Notification of special medical conditions or medications for the child; • Name and address of child’s previous school (applies to students moving into the system)
Register in Person
To register your child in-person, contact your boundary school for assistance with the registration process.
Any student attending Hub Virtual School will be required to have a Chromebook or laptop with a camera and mic, and reliable internet.
Devices
Devices: All students in grades 3 - 12 will require a device capable of Internet connectivity such as a Chromebook or laptop that can go back and forth between home and school.

School Bus Transportation for 2024-2025 is open
Rider RegistrationRegister to ride for 2025-2026
If you want to access school bus services in 2025-2026 please indicate that when you are prompted through the new/current student registration process. Starting in May 2025 we will email rider registration forms to any parent who indicated a need for school bus service in their registration form.
Personal Information Collection
The personal information collected on the Student Registration Form and in any other manner will be maintained as part of a student’s record. This record will be used for registration purposes and to provide educational services to your child. Certain personal information will also be disclosed to Alberta Education to meet reporting requirements, and by agreement. This information is collected under the authority of the Alberta School Act, which mandates the programs and services offered by Medicine hat Public School Division, and Section 33(c) of Alberta's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). The information will be protected by the provision of Alberta's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. If you have any questions about the collection and use of this information, contact the Principal of your child’s school. On the registration form, parents/guardians are asked to give their consent for FOIP, communication, Google Apps for Education and student responsible use of technology.
