Medicine Hat Public School Division Welcomes Newly Elected Trustees

Medicine Hat, AB | Following the trustee election held on October 20, the Medicine Hat Public School Division (MHPSD) is pleased to announce the reelected and newly elected members of its Public Board of Trustees. Released yesterday, the unofficial results reflect the community’s commitment to strong public education and engaged local governance.

The new board includes a mix of returning and newly elected trustees. Two incumbents have been reelected, Pat Grisonich (for his second term) and Catherine Wilson (for her fourth term), reaffirming public confidence in their leadership and contributions. Newly elected trustees, Quinn Skelton, Gwendoline Dirk and Megan Hilgendorf bring fresh perspectives and a shared dedication to student success, equity, and transparency.

“We are excited to welcome newly elected trustees to our Board,” said Tracy Hensel, Superintendent of Schools. “Their leadership will be instrumental as we continue to advance our universal goals, and to foster optimal learning environments where each student feels supported, challenged, and inspired.”

The Board of Trustees play a vital role in shaping the direction of public education in Medicine Hat, overseeing policy, budget, and advocacy efforts that impact thousands of students.

A full list of trustees and their contact information will be available on the MHPSD website after they are sworn into their roles on October 28, 2025.
